1) Where We Ship
United States: All 50 states; extra transit time may apply to AK/HI.
PO Boxes / APO/FPO: Prints and small merchandise usually ship to PO/APO/FPO; large canvases or framed originals may require a physical street address.
International: We ship to select countries. Buyers are responsible for customs duties, VAT/GST, brokerage, and import fees. Delivery times vary by destination and customs processing.
2) Processing & Lead Times
Original paintings: Packed/crated in [2–4 business days].
Limited-edition prints (made to order): Print/quality checking done in [5–10 business days].
Merchandise (mugs, apparel, stationery): [2–5 business days].
Business days exclude weekends and U.S. holidays. If we can’t ship within the time we state (or, if none is stated, within 30 days), we’ll email you to ask for your consent to the delay or offer a prompt refund for the unshipped item(s).

3) Shipping Methods, Rates & Tracking
Rates are shown at checkout and may vary by size, weight, destination, and selected service. Oversized or crated artwork may require white-glove or freight service.
Orders may ship in multiple boxes. You will receive tracking once a label is created.
4) Texas Tax on Shipping/Delivery Charges
In Texas, shipping and delivery charges are generally taxable when they’re connected to the sale of taxable items, and we must collect tax on the item price + delivery (unless a valid exemption/resale certificate applies).
Texas Comptroller
5) Sales/Use Tax on Online Orders Delivered in Texas
Texas buyers owe sales/use tax on taxable items delivered or brought into Texas; we collect/remit where required.
Texas Comptroller
6) Title & Risk of Loss
Unless we specifically agree to deliver at a particular destination (e.g., white-glove “inside delivery”), risk of loss transfers to you when we hand the package to the carrier (for example, UPS/USPS/FedEx). If the agreement does require delivery to a particular destination, risk transfers upon our tender at that destination.

We insure or declare value on higher-value shipments at our discretion; this is not a waiver of the rule above.
7) Address Changes & Order Edits
For security, we can’t change an address once an order is placed. If you need to cancel and reorder with the correct address, contact us ASAP at hb@hboilpaintings.shop
. We’re unable to reroute packages after shipment.
8) Delivery Issues (Lost, Stolen, Delayed, or Damaged)
Marked “Delivered” but not received:
Check around the delivery area and with neighbors; 2) wait 24 hours (carriers sometimes scan early); 3) contact the carrier; then 4) email us within [7 days] of the scan with your order number.
Transit delays: Weather, customs, and carrier backlogs can occur; these are outside our control.
Damage in transit: Keep all packaging. Email photos of the outer box, inner packing, and the item within [48 hours] of delivery so we can assist with a carrier claim and next steps.
Porch piracy: We are not responsible for theft after a carrier confirms delivery. Consider shipping to a staffed location or adding a signature service (see below).
9) Signature Requirement & High-Value Shipments
Orders over [set threshold, e.g., $750] may require an adult signature on delivery. If you decline signature service, you accept responsibility for any loss after delivery is confirmed by the carrier.
10) International Shipping Details
Import taxes/duties/fees are paid by the buyer at delivery. We must declare the item’s actual purchase price and cannot mark commercial shipments as “gift.”
Customs inspections can extend delivery times; those delays are outside our control.
11) Undeliverable, Refused, or Unclaimed Packages
If a package is returned as undeliverable, refused, or unclaimed, we’ll contact you. We can reship (additional postage due) or refund the item price (less original shipping and a [restocking/crating fee if applicable] for artwork made-to-order). Originals/limited editions may be non-refundable except for carrier-verified damage in transit; see our Returns/Refunds policy.
12) Pre-Orders & Backorders
If an item is on pre-order or backorder, the estimated ship window will be shown at checkout or on the product page. If that estimate changes, we will notify you and request consent to the new timeframe or offer a refund per the FTC Mail Order Rule.

13) Packaging & Sustainability
We use protective, gallery-grade packing materials and, where possible, recyclable components. Original paintings and large canvases may ship in custom crates.
14) Policy Updates
We may update this Shipping Policy to reflect process or legal changes. We’ll post a new Effective Date when we do.
Quick Legal Notes (Plain English)

Texas delivery charges: When a taxable item is sold, delivery/shipping is usually taxable too; we collect and remit accordingly.
Texas Comptroller
Risk of loss (Texas UCC § 2.509): In a typical shipment contract, risk passes when we deliver to the carrier; if the agreement requires delivery at a specific destination, risk passes there.
